Rentals
Have your family reunion, birthday party, class reunion, meeting or company picnic in one of Kinston’s beautiful parks. Whether your group is large or small, we have the perfect facility for you at an affordable cost. We also have a spray ground, a full-service campground, gymnasiums, swimming pools and tennis courts available for rent.
For a unique child’s birthday experience we have two (2) fun filled birthday themes that are held at the Neuseway Planetarium Health & Science Museum.
Rental Policy
The Recreation Department maintains policies and rental fees for buildings, picnic shelters, gyms, ball fields, tennis courts, pools and a sprayground. Some requests may require the Recreation Commission’s approval. To make reservations call the Administrative Office at (252) 939-3332, Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Recreation sponsored activities have precedence over all other activities.
- Facilities may not be used for any profit-making enterprise.
- There is an 10:00 p.m. curfew for all parks and facilities unless special permission is granted by the Director of Parks and Recreation.
- Alcoholic beverages, drugs, weapons, and tobacco products are not permitted in/on recreation department buildings or grounds.

Picnic Shelters & Gazebos
There are picnic shelters located at Fairfield (2), Holloway (1), Emma Webb (1), Bill Fay Park (2), Barnet Park (1) and the Neuseway Nature Center (1).
Shelters are reserved on a first come first serve basis and must be reserved in person through the administrative office at 405 N. McLewean Street.
Gazebos are located at Harvey Gardens and Tiffany West Park.
