Throughout the year, the Kinston/Lenoir County Parks & Recreation department provides a wide range of events and activities appealing to all ages and interests.
Movies in the Park Series
Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and join us at Fairfield Park (Vernon Avenue) for our outdoor family-friendly movie series under the stars! Admission is free! No alcoholic beverages, please.
Concessions (hotdogs, popcorn, cotton candy and drinks) sold at the park.

Easter Egg Hunt
An annual Easter Egg Hunt is held Easter weekend at various facilities for youth ages 2-12.
Kwanzaa Celebration
This African-American Holiday/Celebration embraces families and communities alike. It will be held in December and includes activities and displays promoted by local businesses and organizations.
Breakfast with Santa
Come bring your little ones ages 2-7 for breakfast and a visit from Santa held in December at the Georgia K. Battle Center. Admission: 2 cans of food.
Day in the Park
The annual Day In The Park is held at Bill Fay Park the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend from 10:00 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. Events include carnival games, a dunking booth, entertainment, kid’s activities, contests, food, vending booths and more. This is also the Opening Day for baseball in the city.

Octoberfest/Haunted Trail
Various Halloween festivities are offered annually.
Winterfest
Various winter and Christmas activities are offered annually.
Valentine's Prom
Held at Holloway Center for grades 3-5. Held near Valentine’s Day. A small fee is charged.
