Basketball season is right around the corner! Registration begins November 3rd for Youth County and City Basketball.

You can purchase tickets at the Kinston-Lenoir County Parks & Recreation Department (upstairs at the Woodmen Community Center) or at the Kinston Free Press. Can also be purchased at the door.  

Don't miss out on this great event being held at the Woodmen Community Center, 2602 W. Vernon Avenue on Saturday, November 1st starting at 5:30pm.

Join us for Movie Madness Under the Moon featuring "Casper" on Thursday, October 30th from 6-9pm at Grainger Stadium. Prior to the start of the movie we will have activities including: inflatables, music, games and a parade of costumes. Please bring your lawn chairs or blankets as seating will be in the outfield grass. Concessions will be available for purchase. We hope to see you out for a "spook"-tacular evening!

The train is open to the public and running weekends only (weather permitting):

Saturday:  10:00-5:00 and Sunday:  1:00-5:00

Admission: $1.00/person.

Kinston/Lenoir CountyParks & Recreation Department

The Kinston/Lenoir County Parks & Recreation Department operates 11 parks providing organized programs for adults and children, such as: arts and crafts, dance classes, golf, tennis, summer day camps, baseball, softball, volleyball, dodgeball, basketball, football, soccer, kickball and swimming. Two public outdoor pools are available, one at Emma Webb Park and one at Holloway Recreation Center.  The Woodmen Community Center has a state of the art indoor/outdoor pool (heated bubble in the winter) that is included with a Woodmen Community Center membership.  Adult activities are scheduled thoughout the year including golf, tennis, basketball, softball, bridge, aerobics, dodgeball, line dancing and senior outings. A Senior Olympics program is also active in the Spring and Fall. Call us and get involved in the fun!
